This policy explains how InterviewShadow (“we”, “us”) collects, uses and protects your personal data when you use the InterviewShadow website and service. We process personal data in line with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and other applicable law.

1. Data we collect

  • Account and contact details: your name and email address, and your email address if you join the waitlist.
  • Practice content: the role and topics you choose, your answers, the feedback generated for them, and any resume or job description you choose to add.
  • Payment information: payments are handled by our payment gateway. We receive the transaction ID, amount, plan and payment status. We never receive or store your full card, UPI or net banking details.
  • Technical data: IP address, browser and device type, processed by our hosting provider to deliver and secure the website.

We do not use analytics or advertising cookies. If you dismiss the notice bar on the website, that choice is saved only in your own browser.

2. How we use it

  • to provide mock interviews and generate feedback on your answers;
  • to create and manage your account and process your payments;
  • to send service emails such as payment receipts and important account notices;
  • to tell you about our launch if you joined the waitlist;
  • to respond to support requests, prevent misuse and meet legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal data and do not use it for advertising.

3. Who we share it with

We share data only with service providers who process it on our behalf and under our instructions:

  • hosting provider (Vercel) to run the website and service;
  • form provider (Formspree) to collect waitlist signups;
  • payment gateway to process payments;
  • AI service providers to generate interview questions and feedback;
  • email provider to send service emails.

We may also disclose data where required by law or to protect our rights and users. Some providers may process data outside India, with safeguards appropriate under applicable law.

4. How long we keep it

  • Account data and practice content: while your account is active, and deleted within 30 days after you ask us to close it.
  • Waitlist email addresses: until launch or until you ask us to remove them, whichever comes first.
  • Payment and invoice records: for as long as tax and accounting laws require.

5. Security

We use encryption in transit, access controls and reputable providers to protect your data. No online service can be completely secure, so please use a strong, unique password and tell us immediately if you suspect a problem.

6. Your rights

You can ask us to:

  • give you a summary of the personal data we hold about you;
  • correct, complete or update it;
  • erase it, subject to records we must keep by law;
  • withdraw consent you have given, for future processing;
  • nominate another person to exercise these rights if you are unable to.

7. Children

The Service is not directed at children under 18. If you believe a child has given us personal data without a parent's or guardian's consent, contact us and we will delete it.

8. Grievance officer

For complaints about how we handle your personal data, contact our Grievance Officer at tech@interviewshadow.com. We acknowledge complaints within 2 business days and aim to resolve them within 30 days. Postal addresses:

9. Changes to this policy

We will update the date at the top of this page when this policy changes and notify registered users by email of significant changes.
